For salons, barbers and beauty
Salon and barber booking software without the commission.
Let clients book a cut, colour or treatment from your Instagram bio at any hour, with the right time blocked out and a deposit taken if you want one.
Free plan, no card required. Paid plans from £12 a month.
Your treatment menu, bookable
Every treatment takes a different amount of time. OpenSlot lets you list each one with its own duration, price and description, so a full head of foils blocks the right part of the day and a beard trim does not.
Clients pick a treatment, then see the times when a stylist or barber is actually free. They book without downloading an app or creating an account.
- Separate duration and price for each treatment
- Buffer time before or after a service for processing, cleaning or setting up
- Each team member has their own working hours, breaks and time off
- One link for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Google and your website
Protect the chair from no-shows
An empty chair for a two-hour colour appointment hurts. On Solo and Team you can take a deposit or full payment when the client books. The money goes to your own Stripe account at Stripe's standard rates.
Clients get an automatic reminder email before the appointment and can cancel through their link up to the notice period you choose. Inside that window they have to contact you, so your cancellation policy holds.
Your booking terms, such as patch test requirements or a lateness policy, are shown and agreed before every booking is confirmed. Our guide on how to reduce no-shows has more on what to do in a salon.
No marketplace, no new-client cut
Marketplace booking apps can bring in new clients, but many charge a commission on each new client they send you. OpenSlot is not a marketplace. It is your own booking page, and every client who books through it is your client with no commission taken.
Pricing is flat. Team is £29 a month for up to five staff, rather than a fee per team member. If you are weighing the two approaches, our Fresha comparison sets out the differences honestly, including where a marketplace is the better choice.
Built for small teams
OpenSlot suits independent stylists, barbers, nail technicians, lash and brow artists, beauty therapists, dog groomers and small salons with up to five people taking bookings.
It is not a till system. If you need a card terminal, retail stock or product sales at the desk, use a dedicated point-of-sale system alongside it.
Does OpenSlot take a commission on new clients?
No. OpenSlot is not a marketplace and takes no commission on any booking. You pay a flat monthly plan price, and Stripe charges its usual card fees on payments you take.
Can clients choose their stylist or barber?
Yes. Available times show which team member each slot is with, so clients can book with the person they want.
Can I add time between appointments for cleaning?
Yes. Each treatment can have a buffer before and after it, which blocks that time from other bookings.
Can clients book from Instagram?
Yes. Put your OpenSlot booking link in your Instagram bio or link sticker. Clients book in their phone browser without an app.
How much does salon booking cost on OpenSlot?
The Free plan covers one treatment and 20 bookings a month. Solo is £12 a month for one person, and Team is £29 a month for up to five staff.
